FSB Preps for US Sports Betting Debut with GLI Certification
Sports betting and iGaming platform provider FSB announced that it has secured Gaming Laboratories International GLI 33 certification for its sports betting offering ahead of its planned entry into the US wagering market.
Being granted GLI 33 certification means that FSB’s products meet GLI 33 Event Wagering Systems standards.
While the platform provider still needs to make sure that its wagering solutions meet requirements in each individual state it wants to introduce them in, the GLI certification means that these products meet the highest integrity standards and will help FSB expedite the regulatory approval process in each state it has set its sights on.
FSB Chief Executive Dave McDowell said that gaining GLI 33 certification was another huge milestone for his company. He went on that they see huge potential for their solutions and services in the fast-growing regulated US markets and this recent certification gives them the platform “to prove our technologies can meet the exact needs of operators and players across North America.”
FSB announced plans to venture into the US market earlier this year after a turbulent 2019. Last year, the company’s UK subsidiary FSB Technology (UK) Limited faced a review of its license after it voluntarily suspended activities on its UK-facing white-label brand Blackbet. Another FSB-powered UK brand, Black Type, went into administration earlier this year.
Quick and Straight-Forward Approval
Of their GLI 33 certification, Bob Akeret, Vice President Operations, North America at FSB, said that they are delighted to have obtained that certification for their sports betting platform and that this proves they are meeting “the highest integrity standards” ahead of their US market debut.
Mr. Akeret went on to say that approval for their certification was “quick and straight-forward” and that this is a real testament to the “technical capacity of our highly evolved platform.”
Mr. Akeret was appointed to lead FSB’s US expansion effort late last month. He joined from Resorts Digital Gaming, an established New Jersey-facing online gaming operator, where he served as Director of Operations and Customer Experience. During his time with that operator, Mr. Akeret launched its first retail and digital sports betting operations in New Jersey as well as a FSB-powered fantasy sports website.
His role at FSB entails fine-tuning the platform and technology supplier’s product and service offering for the North American market and assisting the company’s business development team in localizing both its retail and digital online sportsbook technologies.
Mr. Akeret is based in FSB’s office in New Jersey and reports directly to the company’s Chief Operating Officer Glenn Elliott.
